Putin: Russia ready to freeze output with no damage to oil cos
LIMA, Nov 21 (PRIME) -- Russia is ready to limit its oil production at the current level, which will make no damage to the energy sector, President Vladimir Putin told reporters on Monday.
“As regards the upcoming OPEC meeting and our position – it is unchanged. We have repeatedly said that we are ready to freeze the output at the level where it is now. We do not see any damage to our energy sector,” Putin said.
He said that the Russian energy minister is in contact on the issue with the oil industry leaders and the companies are ready to take corresponding steps.
According to Putin, there are already no acute disagreements between the world’s key oil producers, which makes it probable that an agreement on oil output freeze will be made at the next meeting of OPEC and non-OPEC countries.
